We need you as a chorister
We would be really pleased to hear from young people interested in becoming a chorister at St. Mary's Church, Bury St.Edmunds. It is a really fun thing to do. Why not come along to try us out and find out more?
- Boys should be seven years or over
- You should be able to read fairly well
- We do not expect any prior musical knowledge
- We do not expect you to know any of the music we sing
- You will be given a very simple private audition where we ask you to read, say whether a note goes up or down and to sing a few notes from the piano
- You then join the others for practice. We will not ask you to sing a solo in front of the others
- To start with you are put on a period of probabtion to see if you like the choir. You are not committed to anything at this stage
- Your parents will have a chance to watch you and ask as many questions as they like
- Do come along and give us a try. We'll be really pleased to see you
