ORAL MEASUREMENT Place the thermometer sensor in one of the positions marked with the “√” sign, as shown in the diagram, for approximately 1 minute. To increase measurement accuracy, keep lips closed for 5 minutes before taking the reading. The normal temperature range for this method is 35.7-37.3℃ (96.3℉ – 99.2℉). RECTAL MEASUREMENT Apply petroleum jelly to the thermometer sensor for easier insertion. Gently insert the sensor about one centimeter (less than half an inch) into the rectum and hold still for approximately 1.5 minutes. The normal temperature range for this method is 35.2℃ – 36.7℃ (95.4℉ – 98.1℉). UNDERARM MEASUREMENT Medically, this method does not guarantee precise measurement. Dry the armpit with a towel, place the thermometer sensor under the arm, and hold the arm tightly against the body for about 1.5 minutes. The normal temperature range for this method is 35.2℃ – 36.7℃ (95.4℉ – 98.1℉). INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE Clean or dip the sensor in ethyl alcohol for disinfection. Press the On/Off button. The display will show briefly for 2 seconds, and you will hear a beep. The last measured temperature will display for about 2 seconds, followed by the auto-test temperature of 37℃ (98.6℉), then the Lo℃ (Lo℉) symbol will appear. Place the sensor in the mouth, rectum, underarm, etc. Once the temperature measurement is complete, the ℃ (℉) symbol will stop flashing, and you will hear a buzzer sound for about 10 seconds. The measured temperature will appear on the display. If the symbol stops flashing but the sensor remains in place, the temperature may continue to rise. Remove the thermometer when you hear the buzzer sound for about 1-2 minutes. If the measured temperature is below 32℃ (90.0℉), the display will show Lo℃ (Lo℉). If the temperature is too high, it will show Hi℃ (Hi℉), indicating the need for immediate medical consultation. If the reading is below 37.8℃ (100.0℉), the beep sounds “Bi-Bi-Bi–Bi.” If the reading is 37.8℃ (100.0℉) or above, the beep will be higher-pitched: “Bi-Bi-Bi—– Bi-Bi-Bi—–Bi-Bi-Bi.” The thermometer automatically turns off after about 10 minutes to save energy. To extend battery life, turn off the thermometer manually after use by pressing the On/Off button. Dispose of batteries and the thermometer in accordance with current regulations.
